<VV> Battery Dying Problem (some Corvair)

My neighbor who has 2 turbo Corvair motors buried in his stash in his garage 
(Corvair Part) also has a project '87 El Camino with stock V8.  In a matter 
of two days his battery will be drained  down to zero volts.  He replace a 2 
year old battery, thinking that was the problem, but the new one does the 
same thing.  He's not leaving anything on such as lights or radio.  Where 
would be the best place to start checking for a short that would be causing 
this problem?
