Earlies are boxy and angular so are clearly masculine.  Lates have soft,
senuous "coke-bottle" curves, so must be feminine.  On a somewhat related
note, my wife has a Miata that has the same "coke-bottle" shape as a LM.
Some people call Miatas "girlie" cars to which I reply, "I like cars, I like
girlies, and I like girlies who like cars, so where's the problem."
