<VV> Wiper grille fit...

Trying to refit the wiper grille on my '65. The passenger side wiper 
post really has some trouble fitting... it's so low in the hole that the 
base of the wiper arm would rub on the wiper grille. Driver side is 
pretty OK. There doesn't seem to be any adjustment to the post, no shims 
or anything; seems like it needs to tilt more towards the windshield.... 
any hints?
