<VV> Bandwidth, was A picture of the (ahem...)

Joe's posts were brief and to the point. The end effect, for me, was
something like a suspense novel unfolding (pleasing dramatic effect).
Indeed, I enjoyed the thread FAR more than I usually like back-and-forths of
humor (which I delete when they are so labelled). Perhaps, to add to the
HUMOR warning, we need an OFF-THE-CUFF or HALF-BAKED warning for those who
dislike the "installment" mode of reporting matters currently under
investigation.
This is VERY much a matter of taste, I recognize, and this thread is
not to be confused with cries for help on the part of people who: (a) don't
investigate their hardware OR software (manuals) before issuing such cry;
and/or (b) don't describe their situation adequately (e.g., year, model, and
operating conditions). I dislike the (a) and (b) intensely, and occasionally
urge the poster to improve his query so that we can help him.
The end effect of Joe's thread, however inefficient or drawn out, WAS
rather informative, and I'd hate for posters to be deterred from posting
such information by the fear that the ultimate obviousness of their problem
might draw complaints from readers. The car IS new to Joe, I believe, and
perhaps Corvairs as well. The voyage of discovery quite drew me in, as you
can see.

If a cursory inspection had been made of the carbs with the air horn
removed,
All the excess band width that was wasted by many members trying to help
in this situation could have been applied elsewhere. A classic case of
failure to
look for the obvious. Sorry Joe but that is the way I feel about your
blatant lack
of basic observation and inspection of these carbs. How do you feel about
what
happened on VV because of this?

Sincerely,
