<VV> Timing for a 4 Speed Conversion

I may have asked this before, but I am not sure what I should set the timing at on my FC.
 
I converted it from a Powerglide to a 4 speed and I have not touched the distributor.  According to the service manual, the timing for a manual transmission vehicle is different than an automatic.
 
Should I time it like a manual trans. vehicle?  Do I need a different distributor or vacuum advance from a manual trans vehicle?
 
It shifts great, but the engine has been running rough and lunges a bit at low RPMs.
