Yes, the float may have been installed backwards, with the long side facing
the wrong way. I can't remember which way is right either.<G>

I have been having an intermitant tapping noise and finally figured out what
it was. When I fill my gas tank the float bobs and hits the top of the tank.
I can hear the noise inside. Has anyone else had this noise as well ?
