I hear that there are several compromises with an internet phone 
service. One is that "local" 911 service may not work. Also, that if the 
power goes off, so does your phone service. And to make it economical, 
one should be averaging a large long distance phone bill. The 
recommendation I heard is to maintain one minimal conventional phone in 
addition to the internet phone.
