What a disappointment.  However, thanks for the thought and the intended 
effort.

Perhaps this guy just thought that you were trying to get a bunch of his 
parts cheap and make a monetary killing because you have contacts that he doesn't 
have.  People often see their own motives in others whether they are there or 
not.

Here is an idea ... He says that he will partner with you and share the 
profit.  How much profit will be yielded when you sell all the requested parts for 
$100/# of parts?  What the hell, be a nice guy and give him all the profits.
