Very true, except for two things. First you don't want to have the oil
picking up heat from the exhaust system. Not a good idea! Second, while oil is good
at picking up heat, it's bad at getting rid of that heat. That stock oil
cooler is marginal at best at cooling the oil. Oil temps in a stock Corvair tend
to run too high as it is. (see Chev engine test reports)

Don't you mean friction HP (FHP) and not IHP? IHP makes no sense.
