Let me add as long as the lower shroud doors are closed and the fresh air inlet to the heater is closed.

Yes, I'd say on a cold engine you could probably run it for 2-3 min
without problem, if your battery is strong, running the heater blower
will help cool the engine.
Getting all the information is most of the solution.

Is it possible to take the fan belt off and start a Corvair engine?
Strange engine noises could be detected without the noise of the fan,
idler pulley, and generator/alternator. How long could one run an
engine without the belt before doing damage?
