Welcome back! Since you left....not long after.....we switched to Mailman
software from Majordomo......NO Spam makes it thru V V!! But as you can
see...you must now be "subscribed" in order to post!
IMO..your problem:
1 dry start...too thin of oil! Syn doesn't matter...
I always crank the engine until the oil light goes out..then hit the chokes
and start....you may want to look into a "12 v Prelube system"....they have
systems for Turbo's to "postlube" for HOT shutdowns.....just pump oil from
the sump to the pressure port...
2 What were your clearances? Bearings that are at the Minimum clearance
are more likely to Gall when dry started....the metal builds up and wipes away
more! I've seen this happen in 200-300 miles! New Bearings...larger
clearance....no problem! You like to drive Hard / Fast....you want loose clearances!
More HP! BUT engine will only last 90k! ggggg
