Dang at 24 I am to young for all this but I have a three on a tree story 
as 
well.  About 5 years ago  buddy of mine ended up with a Rambler 4 door. 63 
I think. He was 
trying to sell it to me.  I remember looking it over thinking what a cheap 
piece o crap.  The build quality and design is cheap and simplistic 
compared to my 61 
Vair. Had a flathead and I had to rebuild the carb to get it running. 
Smoked like crazy.  I had no idea what to do with a column shift.  Finally 
found in the slop what seemed like first and we took it for a cruise, 
Found second.  Came to a stop and tried to find what I thought was first, 
ended up with reverse.  Thinking I was in first and wondering what the 
little flathead would do I revved it and let off the clutch quickly. 
Went flying backwards across the road.  Lucky no one was around.  Got it 
back to my buddies place and told him he could keep it, I wanted to focus 
on the Vairs if spending time on a old car.
