Buddy Holly, J. P. "Big Bopper" Richardson, Ritchie Valens, and 21 year
old pilot Roger Peterson died just a couple miles from the Mason City
Iowa airport, which is physically closer to Clear Lake, than Mason
city. They played their last show in Clear Lake. My Son and I are
HUGE fans of this music and the Surf Ballroom (where they did the last
show). We have attended the annual tribute weekend in Clear Lake for
many years. We are fanatics. Anything you need to know, just ask.
We've studied extensively the careers of the performers, interviewed
many of those who saw them at that last show, and studied the plane
crash. Yes. We're more than just Corvair nuts.
And if you're heading to Cedar Rapids with time to kill, might want to
stop by Clear Lake, North of Cedar Rapids on I-35, and see the Surf.
It's really quite the place. Still in full operation.

Stupidity is like nuclear power, it can be used for good or evil.
But you still don't want to get any on you.
