Than another car
that has been worked on and made 'better than factory' gets a better
score. Isn't this judging for the most original car? If it came from
the factory built a certain way, how can someone say it isn't good
enough? Thats the way it was built.
Clueless in Maine....
Just curious. Thanks in advance for any replies....
Well - You might not want to hear this. Corsa does not "judge" cars for
originality. Cars are "classified" by level of originality. There are no judgements
for "most original". Cars are placed into categories like "factory stock
original" (very few make it into this category, by the way). Or "factory stock
restored" (more make it into this category) if paint is repaired - past a
certain percentage- the car moves to restored. The same goes with several other
parts. Some maintenance items are allowed. Cars can be moved into other more
modified categories. After classificaton, the cars are judged for quality of
preparation - If a car is changed from original, it changes categories. Once a car
is moved into the "other than original" categories, parts of the car can easily
be made better than stock. Cars so modified should not be able to compete
against original cars. The Corsa Concours Rules are on line - go to the Corsa Web
site and check them out. There has been a push for a factory stock unrestored
(also known as the "survivor" class). If you have an interest in this
category, check out the Concours Chair address in the Communique - and write a
letter! - Seth Emerson
