<VV> LM alignment

I finally got around to getting my '65 wheel alignment done today and it drives a whole lot better.  But the guy who did it (who is an old throwback kind of guy) told me the settings I gave hime (which were from the Chevrolet Service News update to the shop manual) were for bias-ply tires and would wear out my radials too fast.  He was mostly concerned with toe-in which the specs gave as 1/4" but he felt that 1/8 to 0 was correct for radials.  He was talking kind of fast but I think his main concern was the rear toe-in.  So what do most people use for street driving settings?
