Call me a "Stocker", but I'm skeptical it would hold
up under the range or service that most users would
subject it to. How often do heater blower fans get
replaced, and how often are they used? Half the time?
The fan that would replace an engine cooling blower,
would be on all the time, in a hot environment, where
electrical items, don't tend to last as long. Maybe
for a racer, you could swing it, since you generally
have a tow vehicle present if the thing fails at the
track.
One thing that I didn't understand, was why the stock
alternator was kept, when a new mount had to be
fabricated. I would have switched to a smaller
internal fan/internally regulated/one wire unit. These
are smaller, so less load is placed on the engine -
which is a large part of getting rid of the belt
driven fan. But then I guess I wouldn't be a "Stocker"
after all.
