Hi Padgett,
I would recommend you plan a vacation on the west coast and car hunt while 
you are there.  There are TONS of rustfree cars for that amount.  Plan 
ahead and you can get air tickets for a few hundred dollars and it will be 
well spent.  You could contact some of the Corvair vendors in CA and they 
should be able to provide you with customers who would like to move a car 
or two.
