I am converting an 80 hp Lakewood engine to a 110
using all '66 moving parts and cylinders--all the
machine work on the block is done--"dry fit/rotation"
test today was very positive---then, totally by
accident- I see in Clarks catalog a crankshaft seal
"spacer" (C5311) for use "when installing a 64-69
crank in 61-63 block" -----and I thought I already
knew everything---- FOLKS, those that have gone
before me,,, stand up and testify,,,, tell me my
potential pitfalls, missed items, or errors in my
thinking !!!!!

On another note- my convention wardrobe is complete,
including a brand new John Deere* ball cap and
matching T-shirt----drove all the way to town to get
my "walk-around" money ---bank girl says, "whery ya'll
goin with all that munie" --me, "to Oreegon to play
with cars"--- bank girl;, "I thought you guys played
with your rods around here enuf" ----- The scary
part is,---this story is tooooo close to the truth.

*For those in the North----John Deere makes farm
equipment---new advertising ("gimmie") hats and shirts
from your favorite manufacturer/supplier are
considered "formal" wear locally-hats are not normally
removed in/during restaurants, sex, funerals, movies,
NASCAR races, bar fights, and often - church---the
exception being, any function involving/during the
National Anthum or the Flag passing in review ---This
is the unwritten TeXas code-- God only knows what they
do in Arkansas or that "mud bug" eat'n State on the
other side of the Red River.
