if the holes are just screw holes get a good size soldering iron, go over and 
around the hole with a peice of coarse sandpaper untill it is hiney with no 
lines and solder a coin over the hole,  like a clean penny, quarter or 
whatever.  do it all the time on bottoms after draining with a body pick (modern cars) 
 just heat it up with iron and hold the penny up with a screwdriver.  never 
had a comeback in over  25 years of doing this.
