Could just use a cardboard sun protector. If you have an electric fuel pump 
you could also put a switch someplace handy but out of sight. Thief would 
get in, start up, and drive off only to have it die a few yards later. To 
be really creative, when switch is thrown tie temp/press light to the horn 
relay (will need a DPDT). Would also be useful for those concerned about 
carjacking.
