Uh, Matt - are you OK? I don't exactly know what point you're trying to make here but I'm not sick of myself I'm sick of my car. I'm annoying for sure but I've gotten kind of used to it after all these years. I love my Corvair but it is being quite troublesome. I'm not experienced enough at what to proclaim I'm sick of my car? I'm experienced enough with life to know when I'm sick of something and this morning I was sick of my Corvair. I'm slowly coming to terms with it but it is annoying.
No, the guy I bought it from didn't offer a warantee but neither did he present it as a "project" car. It was described as being not a show car but good for local parades and such (which it is) and he said the only thing wrong with it was little rust in the back of one of the rockers. I did start up and drive the car and I've driven around 1000 miles since I bought it and the engine runs amazingly well. I'm not saying I was ripped off at all, the brakes worked and the engine worked and the car was fine the first day I had it but then the problems started up and now this valve problem. I was perhaps over confident in the condition of the admitedly old car due to the sellers reputation but I understand it is an old car. I'd just rather drive it more often than I have to work on it and it would be real nice if it could go for more than a week without something going wrong.

Did he give you a "warrantee"??? Same as any purchase of a used car!
When you picked up the car.....did you "turn the key" and drive off? [no!]
You bought a "PROJECT" nothing more......you payed for the parts and the
work done....and possibly what you thought was woth $$$ "respect".

That being said; no flame............you are not experienced enough to
proclaim, " sick of my corvair"......it should read "I'm sick of myself"!
Matt.......who put his fist thru a windshield after realizing it WAS a
loose flywheel that broke 3 starter snouts.......BUT.....I looked at it with "
I'm not gonna let this machine BEAT ME"....and went on.....
