The Jan 1, 2000 Y2K concerns prompted many business to do the same.
There was a glut of returned generators. Distributors charged up to a
50% restocking fee. I bought a returned 15 KW diesel unit for half
catalog price from Northern Hydraulics. It was still in the original
crate, never even hooked up.
