<VV> Another Vapor Lock or How did it ever run?

Had a vehicle with the fuel line connected to the "vapor return port" [ high 
on the tank wall.....] with no pickup down in the tan k....

Ran great..did vaporlock.........and if you let the tank get too 
low........sputter.....slow down and it was OK again....BUT   pull into gas 
station.....running fine.....shut off.....put less than a FULL  refill........and it 
wouldn't START!.....not even a sputter.....until you filled the tank....then 5-10 
seconds of crankinjg...and all was fine!
