It is difficult to install a condenser anywhere else on the Corvair, but it
HAS been done. Body modification along with modification of the refrigerant
circuit along with a new condenser (the original won't fit).
Another point of concern. Is the engine a turbocharger engine, or was a
turbocharger added to a normally aspirated engine? It is my understanding
(never tried it) that adding a turbocharger to a previously non-turbocharged
Corvair engine will soon break the Corvair engine. Others on this list have
experience, and one of these may respond. Engine-block codes will help you
learn WHAT ENGINE (you can SEE the turbocharger) is in there.

Does anyone know anything about this car? Im curious about the A/C and
turbo combination. This looks like a nice conversion. Thoughts? It
would be used about three to four times a week for short commutes and
shows if . . .

 From the seller:

How does the AC work, has it been converted to 134, and where, just
courious, is the condensor for it???? Thanks, Denny

A:
Denny, The factory condensor goes with the car, but it is not
installed. The Turbo resides where the factory unit went. When the car
was redone into a Corsa Turbo, they just did not put it back in. The
hoses were plugged so the system has not been open. There is a certain
late model unit that fits in the right rear fender with an electric
fan. I just did not get the time to install one. The rest of the system
is intact.

Never heard of this. Would it be hard to complete?
