I just ordered a new fuel line, carb nut and gasket as well as a tail light socket but I'd appreciate any advise.
The leak could be due to a bad seal between the end of the fuel line and the inside of the large fuel nut. This can usually be cured with a small o-ring, or as you are doing, a new fuel line and nut. If the problem is between the line and the connector that slides over it, a wrap of dental floss between the two will usually solve the problem. Good luck.
