I've run the Bosch plugs, including the "big buck" platinums in just about
everything and they all did fine. The "super platinums" did quite well,
good life, resistant to fouling if you end up with a carb problem (as
happened once) and they are ALL still in cars here, never had one fail in
anything except a really worn oilburner that would foul ANY plug I tried.
If other people had problems with Bosch plugs that were severe enough to
actually keep the engine from starting, I have NO clue what might have gone
wrong. As mentioned, in all the cars here, Bosch plugs went in and have
not been replaced since and they're all still doing fine, including the 140
engine in the blue '69 and its super-plats have been in it for at least 8
years now, were in it when the car was purchased from its former owner who
said the plugs had been in it for several years.
Oh... the engine in the '60 was the exception. It's had Champions in it
since the 1980s and they're STILL in the engine and they were still all
firing well right up until the engine had a seat fail and shatter.
The replacement engine has 44f's... left them there since they're fine.
