If you used a set of Bosch Platinums (and you mean by "won't turn over" that the engine revolves but does not fire), welcome to the club. Though some folks
run these with no problem, others (myself included) have cars that will barely run with them. This likely indicates a low voltage situation (possibly the breakdown
of the resistor wire supplying the coil with less than optimal voltage or as you guess a potentially weak coil). Platinums appear to have a very low tolerance for
such things.
Many (most?) of us run Bosch Supers (Coppers) in the old number of W8AC (the standard VW plug). Not certain what the new part number is...
