No, Chuck,
This isn't way oiling is done. There is a "spit hole" gap between the rod and
the crank which allows additional oil to be thrown off from the rod bearings
and lube the cylinder walls, some of which gets to the wrist pin. Remember
that the wrist pin is a press fit in the rod, so lubing is only required in the
piston bosses..
