I have also had similar offers in selling cars. I have never followed
through with any of them. I even considered opening a new bank account
(with minimal funds of course) for them to wire the funds, then when cleared
I would use those same funds to refund the difference. They never followed
up. You seem to have already figured out that if this is not a scam it is
at least highly suspect.
Putting our money under the mattress is looking better than ever.
