<VV> Annoying Text

Grant,

The biggest problem seems to be with the text that is copied for inclusion
with your own message. It seems that the program VV uses truncates the line
length of most messages. This message "wraps around" automatically as I type and
get to the end of the typing window but the VV program shortens each line and
appears to use a carriage return. For this reason, you might get a double
carriage return including one of yours and one of the programs. In addition,
the copied text may have been copied several times by the time you use it and
this aggravates the situation.

What I do is this ...

1. I try to snip away as much of the unnecessary text I copy as possible and
still retain the sense of it. I certainly don't include several generations
of messages with my own.

2. I take the copied text and use the delete and back buttons to eliminate
the superfluous carriage returns and change it back into normal "wrap around"
text. This also gets rid of those ">" thingies. If I needed to do this a lot,
I would use one of the programs others have mentioned that strip the garbage
automatically.

This still doesn't eliminate all of the carriage returns that the program
puts in but it helps a lot.
