Why not?   There's a 5/8 scale FW-190 flying,  a 1/2 scale P-47 in the air,
and at least two 3/4 scale P-51s powered with automotive engines.    Who's
to say a 1/2 scale Corvair powered Corsair wouldn't fit right in?       


Not quite sure what one would call such an airplane...
