I have had good luck with the undercarriage threads using a solvent (kerosene 
or tar remover) and a wire brush to clean off the crud.  Then I coated the 
threads with naval jelly to cleanup up the rust (it won't harm good metal), left 
it overnight and washed it off with water the next day.  Once dried and 
lubricated I could remove nuts with little trouble (except the effort).

If you have the clearance (room to get to it) try a thread file-they're
square and have teeth corresponding to the thread pitch.  Available from
Snap-on for sure-that's where I got mine.
