Several days ago I wrote:

" My mid engine Deserter GS uses a Bosch starter.  The Corvair engine is
not reverse rotation.  I don't know what the starter is from, but suspect
Audi or Porsche 944."

So I took out the starter and went to a local rebuild shop, and the
numbers indicate that the starter is from  a Porsche 928, 1978 through
1986.  Bosch number 0 001 312 102  This starter provides the correct
rotation for a normal rotation Corvair engine.
