<VV> Rear view day/night knob

Can any of you early convertible owners out there help me out with my inside
mirror? My day / night knob on the bottom of my mirror has been missing for
as long as I can remember, and I do not know if or how it can be repaired.
Anyone tried fixing this? The chrome on it is in superb condition, but it
looks a little odd without the knob.
