<VV> Heater control cable question

One of the truly great inventions of the century is a product called kroil,
from Kano Labs, which actually penetrates rust.  I have seen it used it on
military equipment at sea where one would expect nothing would ever come loose
and it was remarkable.  Forcing it into the cable without removing it might be
a problem however.
We used to tie a collar around one end of a frozen or sticking cable, hang it
vertically with a receptacle (can) at the bottom and pour some Kroil in the
top. In a day or so, the results were truly amazing.
