Joe's right. Find someone in the area to do the evaluation. Get pictures.
I've done this many times by offering $50 for their efforts. The money spent
is, as the Mastercard commercial says; priceless.
Saved me from buying a '60 hearse in New York and a '65 Riviera GS in North
Carolina.
