That's a good tip. <optical lens polisher> Why don't you post it to the
list? It sure is better than what I've seen posted, like steel wool and laquer
thinner.
By the way, I'm not the one that asked the original question, but I do
appreciate the tip. Marc <unsnip>
I'm the guy who suggested the "OOOO" steel wool AND WD-40. I have used this
combo to take paint off of plastic, glass, and aluminum trim hundreds of
times with excellent result. Don't knock something until you try it!

Floor waxes, plastic polish, car polish, lens polish and the like will take
fine scratches out of the plastic lens, won't take off the overspray, in my
experience. Solvents will take off the overspray but will ruin the plastic.
The trick is to find something that will be powerful enough to take off the
paint without damage to the plastic. My suggestion of 0000 steel wool,
lubricated with WD-40 was not speculative. I have used it for this exact problem.
I agree, it sounds weird, but it does the job well. After the paint is off,
it wouldn't hurt to polish the lens and the doctor's lens polishing tip is
just the ticket for that.
