<VV> fc door glass channel

I have a 61 rampside and am about to replace the door glass run channel, from the top and down the back of the door . I have the channel from Clarks but they mention using the old clips, new clips not available. I have no old clips to use as a pattern so I am wondering what other people have done for a solution. I am not sure w/strip glue is the answer... I'm anxious to hear how to do this !!!! 
Also, my apology, a thank you is past due!!!!  Many weeks ago I had a no reverse problem and you suggested a dropped roll pin in the rev. shifter fork , exactly the problem.....I am only able to work on it spare time but now the power train is back in but not off the jack stands... What a GREAT place to come to learn about my/our favorite car !!!!!!!!!!!     Thank you all very much
