Though Joe and I don't agree on much outside of Corvairs, he's right as rain
here.
The Tech Guide gives advice (in at least one case) that is actually printed
incorrectly in the shop manual. It is also replete with advice in the
articles of what can go wrong if you do things incorrectly.
Classic Corvair, Corvair Basics Manual, and other books also are full of
ideas that are pretty idiot proof, and have been long tested and used by
Corvair people throughout the spectrum of mechanical ability. Synching
carbs?? Tech articles, if you go carefully step by step (the first few
times you do it) will have you synching carbs like a pro. Just an example.
