Mark,
Having owned 4 convertibles (3 of them Corvairs) my opinion is that they
are major pains in the a**!!!! The tops (especially rear windows) are quite
fragile, requiring high maintenance and lots more care than an equivalent
coupe. Tops leak air, make noise and are cold in the winter. However, despite ALL
the many minuses, some of us believe convertibles have ONE overriding PLUS -
driving with the top down makes it all worth while!!
So my question to you, Mark, is why bother with all the many
disadvantages of a convertible if you don't regularly drive it with the top DOWN???

I'd recommend leaving it up. That's what I do (mine has rarely been
down) and it's a '67 with the ORIGINAL top and rear window, and still in
pretty decent condition.
