I've been doing this ever since I started driving. My current project is my daily driver 65 Corsa 110 4spd. I've driven it some 8000 mi. and spent only about $350 on it. I t was  found in a chicken coupe in central Indiana. The PO removed the 140 engine and was about to crush it so I dragged it home and stuffed a very tired 110 I had  in it. I've done alot of work to it to keep it on the road but have spent little money.The money mostly went to the brakes. This is most important for safety. Other than that I bought a new speedo cable and some rod bearings. It's still doing daily duty ,even in the snow. I'll keep it going as long as it's safely repairable.
