Hadn't planned to add to the discussion but,.... what the heck. Guess I'm
still a newbie since its only been 5 months since Bob Gilbert of Golden, B.C.
reintroduced me to the world of Corvairs. So successful was he that with a
little help from two other Western Canada Corsa members I located and bought a
63 Spyder Turbo vert, imported it back to Alberta, Canada, went through the
necessary inspections and finally got it registered and licensed.
Unfortunately, winter had set in by now so I still haven't driven it. Guess
that makes me eligible for the new club. I'll be 68 this year so that likely
raises the average a bit more. Getting me excited, re-enthused Bob to finish a
7 year dormant project of his own, a 66 Turbo vert, so we're both looking
forward to Spring. He was kind enough to give me my CORSA membership which I'm
most grateful for and I do look forward to receiving the communicque. Seems to
me that its not a question of either/or, but both/and. VV is without peer when
it comes to getting information quickly and accurately from those who have been
there/done that. It's a truly awesome tool. But supporting a national group
like CORSA is essential for the ongoing health of the whole Corvair thing..and
I would suggest, regardless of the cost, well, almost. Hope to attend both
the regional in Iowa and the national in Portland with the chance to meet face
to face with folks whose names I've been reading since last September. HAven't
driven the 63 yet but I'm already looking at a 66. Is this a blessing or a
curse?????? Lovin' every minute of it.
