I have. The results from removing thermostats from water pumpers is VERY
different from removing thermostats from Corvair engines.
As I said, 911s have no lower shrouds or thermostats, and they do not suffer
either overcooling or overheating, typically. Although, like typical air
cooled engines, their CHT is all over the place.
