WOW! 97 e-mails! (VV and "talk")
Here's my .02...for the past couple of years I've been a CORSA member, but not
a member of my local club-Dayton Corvair Club. After the second year of NOT
making it to any club function, I decided not to spend the $15.
True, the importance of the Communique has decreased some with the new,
high-tech communication we have. The classifieds used to be a couple of
pages, at least a page of cars and another of parts. Now I check the on-line
classifieds daily. I do like the communique and think it worth "the price of
admission". I can agree with Alan about not needing so much detail about how
great the hospitality room was at ...insert your event...Maybe it needs to be
recognized.
One reason to be a CORSA member is, to attend CORSA events. Read the
registration form, if you're not a CORSA member, plunk down $35 along with the
registration for the convention, Springfest, Fan Belt Toss, etc. If half our
loss of 300 or 400 members was due to death or advanced old age, we need to
recruit that many to stay even and need to keep the rest or attract more to
replace them. Young is good, I guess. Corvairs, even ratty ones like mine,
attract people. I don't get to go to many cruise-ins but the few I got to,
mine was the only Corvair. The car is affordable and has great vendor support
and a great organization...that's what I tell people.
