<VV> LM door window adjustment secrets??

Norm & Craig make excellent comments. Thanks, Craig for the reminder!
I have your article from the Communique copied & in my "tech" file
(although I had already forgotten about it!) & waiting for "someday"
when I decide to remove the panel & tackle the problem again. I
initially thought the same as Norm's body man that the factory may have
bent things to make them fit, but I put all of the same parts back in
(only cleaner)- even had the same nuts on the same bolts so everything
was the way I removed it, but it still wouldn't line up right. I did
replace the front convertible top bow (rusted), so I figured that might
be the problem even though it all appeared straight & lined up. I like
the systematic way Craig describes the adjustments in the article, so I
will withhold further questions or comments until I try it again.

Yeah, I have the secret. I took to my body man and gave him money!
I know, lame. I got them close on my own, but even with the shop manual
I wasn't getting that last little bit.
Even Bob wasn't able to get it perfect. He said that at the factory
they would sometimes bend things to get them right, which is scary when
you think about reefing on door hardware. I didn't have the guts to do
that myself.
The problem is more complicated on a convertible because you also have
to make sure your top frame is properly aligned.

<snip>You guys are scaring me :o). I too had mine apart for painting and
have put everything back, but have not yet tried to adjust it. Surely
there is someone out there that can help us?<unsnip>
Check the July 2005 Communique. There's a lengthy write-up on this
exact subject in the "Techlines" section. I can forward a copy if you
don't keep back issues.

mentioned adjusting his like it was no big deal. Perhaps he has the
secret.

Mike,
I think it's an art. I removed mine (65LM cvt) when I had it painted.
I think I have a lot of patience, but after several weekends & every
combination of adjustments I could think of, I gave up & left it as good
as I could get it, although not where I wanted it.

What the heck is the secret to LM front door window adjustment? I
chased my tail for hours today and can't seem to get the window right.
It decided to adjust it because it was getting hard to wind down
(although it used to be fine). So I took the panel and paper off and
started adjusting everything. Eventually I had every nut or screw loose
and I've got it rolling up and down OK. It hits the upper rear corner
too soon and it feels like the rear sits too high. I've got the body
manual and I've followed what it said about what to adjust for which
adustment. I'm getting frustrated. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Even if someone could recommend a good book on GM door and window
adjustments. Or do I just keep chasing my tail until it gets better?
It's a convertible BTW, if that makes any difference.
