I pumped mine by "foot" (actually, my 8 year old slave boy pumped - I convinced him it was fun).  It worked OK but you  really need 2 people, maybe 3.  One to pump and one to operate the bleeder and maybe one to check the fluid level in the master cylinder.  BTW, wasn't "Master Cylinder" a villain on Felix the Cat?
