my method of rebuilding the early shrouds is in pictures on the website. i
bought a roll of the material cheap years ago from cotrolfelds in vt. it must be
a lifetime supply , as i have rebuilt several sets of shrouds and plan on at
least 2 more sets soon. the job takes time and patience but looks pewrfect
from the top and not too bad from the bottom. i use mechanics wire to replace the
staples , redrilling all holes. then i use a touch of super glue to hold the
rubber in place (without wrinkles) while i twist the wires until they break
the excess off , kinda looking like a staple when you are done. use a stainless
wire to be rust free , or regular wire to rust a little like original staples
did. the biggest part of work is sandblasting and painting the metal parts.
the rest is not too bad to do. pictures at : http://www.corvair.de/n2vzd/
