<VV> Steering Shaft - Human Sprear

There was a shoulder belt option for late model convertibles -- kinda
clunky, though. Having said that, I agree that old cars are not safety
cocoons. If safety is your number one concern, leave your old car in the
garage and drive a 5-Star rated something (or take the bus).

Where am I supposed to hook the shoulder belt to in my convertible? Oh, I
could put Sebring seats with integral belts in. Well, why don't I just
replace the whole car with a Sebring then, if safety is so important? I've
said it before and I'll say it again, if you are really, really concerned
with safety, you shouldn't be driving a Corvair (or any 60's car). Modern
cars have it all over our old clinkers when it comes to safety features -
like it or not. Even with airbags though, people get killed in crashes.
I'm not advocating total disreguard for safety but you have to be a little
realistic here.
