Because southroners are good at selling "interesting" pieces of real estate 
to northerners. Are above water at least for the tourist season. I grew up 
on the coast & moved north to get here. Has a lot to do with why I live in 
Orlando, home is 80 miles from either coast and, other than a few hours in 
midday this time of the year (when I am working my day job anyway) the 
garage is useful year round.

Texas is the other state I'm willing to live in but am basically an east 
coast person.

Hope people keep on coming to dizzywhirl though, tourist taxes are one 
reason we have no state income tax.
