Not because of fuel. It's distance that limits me. The cost of
fuel to and from is not as much a consideration as money spent on
other things like a room, vendors, etc. I don't judge a shows costs
on fuel expenses to get there since the fuel costs are a constant;
you have a good idea what it's gonna cost you before you leave the
driveway... unlike the vendors. ;)

Hey, there's no reason to limit the miniconventions to times when
fuel is expensive. Now, if a nats is centrally located, there would
be less of a pursuit to also have a minicon somewhere, rather than a
situation where a nationals is held in Oregon or Florida or
California or Maine etc; a minicon on the other side of the country
to cater to those who weren't able to drive cross-country is a pretty
good idea. I wasn't able to justify the drive to Portland... long
trip, not enough vacation time available, and so on. But PA is only
three smaller states away, doable in a day.

I'm not the guy to ask this. I am cheap.

That's a judgement call for whoever hosts the show. They know best
whether they can fill a wider schedule.

I don't own a trailer, I drive the Vairs to and from.

>What events at Meets will help to "motivate" you to attend?

I go to see friends, do the vendors, look at the cars, and hang
out. I'm not a big participant in concours, rallys, etc although if
I had a 95 point car and a good navigator I'd be there. Hell, if I
had a car that wasn't a daily driver seeing usual duty and thus
showing wear and tear, I'd likely give it a shot in the show. Maybe
sometime in the future...? As it is, I'm more inclined to do
"people" stuff like vendors and socializing in the crows and looking
at other peoples cars.

Others' mileage may vary. I'd likely participate in events to a
larger degree if I was able.

...I could maybe add more commentary after the Pa mini-convention...
